Treading water

Casey Olsen, a lesbian who lives in a little town on the New England coast, has chosen to make a living as a fisherwoman. She shares her life with Alex a social-worker dealing with teenagers. Christmas' eve brings the entire Olsen clan to town and Casey is invited but without Alex. This film shows Casey's struggle to coincide her family life and her love life. With a religious and conformist mother and a self-effacing father, Casey finds no ally and the confrontation is inevitable but maybe also a way to bring to the surface secrets that threaten the whole family's stability.
